THEY KNOW. According to a Miami-based company called Linen Tracking Technology, a lot of hotels stitch tiny microchips into their towels, robes, pillowcases, cloth napkins and other linens. The LinenTracker chips are currently being used in over 2,000 hotels--but don't ask which ones.
Can a friend sleep in your hotel room?
Typically, a standard hotel room is designed to accommodate one or two guests. If two people want to sleep in a single bed in a hotel, there may be additional charges involved. Some hotels may allow it without any extra fees, while others may charge an additional fee for the extra person.

Premier Inn's policy doesn't allow more than two adults to a room, so you will need to book two rooms or more if you have three or more adults in your party. At Premier Inn guests aged 16 years and above are classed as adults.
Can I walk into a hotel and get breakfast?
Possible. Some hotels require a card of some sort to partake in the breakfast given to the guests at check-in. Others will actually charge a small fee to outside guests and welcome them to enjoy the buffet. We actually had regular customers that can in every week, as a treat once a week, pay a small fee then eat.
