Can I change the details on my Railcard?


Can I change the details on my Railcard? Please go to Manage my Railcard on the website homepage to log in to your account. Once logged in, on the top right of your account summary page, please click on your 'Menu Profile' and select 'Personal Details'. You will be given the option to update or change your personal details.


Can friends and family use my Railcard?

Two adults can be named as cardholders on your Family & Friends Railcard. The two adults don't need to travel together but you do need to be travelling with at least one child between the ages of 5 and 15 to be eligible for the discount.

We'll automatically apply your Railcard savings and show you the discounted price. Book your train tickets as a digital ticket, or to be collected at the station. Bring the device your digital Railcard and train tickets are stored on to show to a ticket inspector if asked.

To link your Oyster card and railcard, you need to take your Oyster card and your railcard to an Underground station, Overground ticket office or some National Rail ticket offices and ask the clerk to add your discount entitlement to your Oyster card. It will be valid until the expiry of the railcard.

Yes. You must show your valid Railcard when you buy your ticket. You also need to have your Railcard with you on each journey and present it to staff when your ticket is checked aboard the train.


How do you get away with no railcard?

If you forget your Railcard you will either be required to buy a new ticket or you may on certain services be liable for a Penalty Fare. However, a train company will normally allow you to claim back this extra expense on the first occasion in each year where this happens.

Is it cheaper to use an Oyster Card or contactless?

Is it cheaper to use Oyster or contactless? As both cards use the same Pay As You Go system and are compatible with the TfL Oyster & Contactless app, the costs are comparable. As a tourist in London, it can be worth getting an Oyster Card as part of the London Pass.
