Can airplanes look like stars?
Can airplanes look like stars? Closer to home, if an aeroplane is flying directly towards you, it can appear to be stationary for a while (although the flashing landing lights may be visible) and can also be confused with a star or planet.
Can pilot see stars?
They were flying around at 80000 feet at some point in their mission profile. Basically you have to get above most of the atmosphere. So you should start to see stars above 43000 feet. Of course there are some other options, you see them during an eclipse or above the Arctic circles in the right season.
Why do planes look still in the sky?
Basically it's the headwind. When the headwind is huge enough to create a lift but also greater or equal to the speed of the aircraft, it will look like it is standing still.
