Are there lifeguards in Hilton Head SC? Shore Beach Service provides year-round beach patrol for the entire 13.5 miles of beach on Hilton Head Island. During the peak summer season, our patrol consists of more than sixty lifeguards, (at various locations in areas indicated in the map below), eight red trucks marked Beach Patrol, and two red ATVs.
Can you drink beer on SC beaches?
No glass or alcohol is allowed on the beach or at beach accesses. Swimmers must stay within 50 yards of the shore and may not swim in water more than chest deep. Swimmers must obey lifeguard flags at all times.
Can you smoke on the beach in South Carolina?
Smoking is prohibited on the beaches and public beach accesses.
How do beach lifeguards go to the bathroom?
You have to entertain yourself. We pee in the water just like everybody else — some of the guards even go No. 2 in there. It's quicker than walking up to the bathrooms on the boardwalk.
