Are floaties allowed in Lake Michigan? Of the Park's 2,450 feet of Lake Michigan frontage, about 1,600 feet are dedicated for a public swimming area in the summer months. Inflatable water rafts are allowed, but they are not suggested. Due to the unpredictable nature of Lake Michigan, rafts and floating devices can be dangerous.
