Are fires allowed on Santa Cruz beaches? Fires are not allowed on any City Beaches, which includes Cowells Beach, Main Beach & some beaches along Westcliff Drive. Fires are allowed in fire rings only at the following State Beaches: New Brighton. Twin Lakes.


Can you bring a fire pit to the beach?

Use only designated fire pits. Beach fires outside of designated containers are also strictly forbidden. The debris from such illegal fires can cause serious injury to beachgoers, children especially digging in the sand.
