'Barbie' Premiere : Margot Robbie and Alexandra Shipp Praise Greta Gerwig's Direction

The long-awaited Barbie film has become a reality, thanks to the collaboration and shared vision of its director, Greta Gerwig. During the red carpet premiere at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, Margot Robbie, one of the stars of the film, expressed her admiration for Gerwig, emphasizing that many of the cast members joined the project because of her.

Robbie, speaking from the pink carpet, acknowledged Gerwig's unique talent and the qualities she brings to her films. She described Gerwig as incredibly intelligent, with a remarkable ability to blend humor and emotion seamlessly. The Barbie movie demanded precisely those elements, and Robbie couldn't imagine anyone else capturing them as Gerwig did.

Alexandra Shipp echoed Robbie's sentiments, expressing her excitement and nerves at working under Gerwig's direction. Shipp praised Gerwig for fostering a safe environment on set, allowing the actors to be honest, articulate, and make choices with integrity. Gerwig's guidance elevated the performances and contributed to the film's overall quality.

Robbie's producing partner, Tom Ackerley, also shared his enthusiasm for the script. After reading it alongside Robbie, they were constantly amazed by the surprises and the script's continual improvement. Ackerley jokingly admitted feeling doubtful that they could ever bring such an extraordinary story to life, recognizing the script's immense potential.
